HARD LAUNCH! MEET THE BRAND NEW SINGLES FROM THE STAN ORIGINAL DATING SERIES LOVE TRIANGLE RETURNING FOR A SECOND SEASON OCTOBER 5, ONLY ON STAN

August 29, 2023 – Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, today announced the second season of the premium reality dating series Love Triangle returns with a double episode premiere on October 5, only on Stan. Stan unveiled the six new singles on the hunt for a mind-blowing romantic connection, along with welcoming Married At First Sight alumni and fan fave Ella May Ding to the series as the narrator of the modern dating show. From Endemol Shine Australia, the producers of Married At First Sight, in conjunction with Stan and the 9Network, the Love Triangle format has drawn international attention, with a British version recently commissioned by Channel 4 for E4 in the U.K.

Watch the trailer here: https://youtu.be/G0mKafJ_3Y4

In a ‘swipe left’/ ‘swipe right’ culture, often based on pictures alone, Love Triangle challenges a group of singles to relinquish their grasp on what they think their perfect partner should look like, and instead choose from two potential suitors, sight unseen, inspired by a deeper connection. Once they date their first pick, they move in together and build on the connection they’ve formed, until their second choice comes knocking…

This season tests the singles like never before as they are forced to consider their own toxic dating habits and confront some uncomfortable home truths. A shocking new twist will rock the singles to their core. Unable to run, hide, or ‘ghost’ when the going gets tough, they are forced to reconsider their dating behaviours, work through their insecurities and approach connections with a refreshing new mindset.

MEET ELLA

In a shakeup of the groundbreaking Love Triangle format, season two welcomes MAFS alumni Ella May Ding as the narrator of the modern dating show. Ella first rose to fame, capturing the hearts of Australia when she appeared on Married at First Sight season nine in 2022. With her infectious positivity, and unwavering self-assurance, Ella quickly became a fan favourite. Despite not finding lasting love on the experiment, Ella has solidified her position as a multi-talented and influential figure in the industry, using her platform to empower and inspire others.

Ella will provide a fresh take on the new season of Love Triangle, having been through a relationship experiment as part of her own quest to find lasting love. With her energy and unique perspective, Ella will captivate audiences while advocating for self-love, personal growth, and meaningful connections. This experience leaves her more than able to tackle her first TV narrating role for Love Triangle.

MEET THE SINGLES

Alan - 32, Electrician, VIC

Charismatic sparky Alan is often mistakenly perceived as an “f boi” by potential suitors. The successful businessman and ex semi-professional AFL player is adamant that these preconceptions couldn’t be further from the truth. He admits that he does have walls up, which has him searching for red flags ahead of the positives when it comes to any potential match. Having experienced heartbreak twice in the past, Alan has been on numerous ‘inauthentic’ dates with women who misunderstand him, and he won’t settle until he’s finally found the ‘real deal’.

Jacinta – 28, Model, VIC

Outgoing and vibrant Jacinta is searching for her soul mate to wake up to each morning. Identifying as pansexual, Jacinta has been in relationships with men and women, but hasn’t dated a man in over four years. Although she has dipped her toe into dating apps, she admits that it’s been more for validation as opposed to looking to meet someone special. Jacinta is open to meeting someone with whom she can connect on an emotional level – energy and confidence are non-negotiable.

Nellie - 25, Comedian, TAS

Full of life, and a long list of dating disasters, Nellie is looking for someone to adore her. Nellie finds that the ‘hot guys’ on the apps don’t swipe right for her, so she doesn’t even try. A comedian with high expectations when it comes to sarcasm and humour, Nellie is ready to rip up her book of questions which she carries around with her (not joking) to determine if her suitors make the mark.

Sam – 35, Business Owner, WA

Self-assured and confident Sam lives in the remote town of Broome, where the prospect of love comes and goes with the tourist seasons. Sam can operate at surface level, often going for looks over substance. He has been guilty (on more than one occasion) of mistaking infatuation for love, becoming bored by ‘basic’ personalities and moving on. Sam doesn’t think twice about flying women in to see him from interstate, and even international destinations in his quest to meet a woman who is in the same league as him; but each time, inevitably the romance dies out. At 35, Sam believes he is ready to find someone unique who matches him on every level, not just his (self-professed) good looks, and settle down once and for all.

Sulei - 28, Social Worker, QLD

Ultra-likeable bachelor Sulei is a hugely social being. There is always something going on in Sulei’s life, and now it’s time for him to share it with someone special. Sulei has been single for four years and never been in love before. He admits to being quite picky when it comes to a partner, often cutting off relationships before they’ve had a chance to get going. A devoted family guy, Sulei is looking for a soulmate who is secure in herself that he can champion – and give his family grandkids of course!

Tamera – 26, Content Creator/Model, NSW

London-born model and content creator Tamera has been single for five years and is ready to meet ‘the one’. Super-driven Tamera isn’t willing to settle, and says that she doesn’t have too high standards… just a guy who’s 6’5” or above (not shorter), has depth of character and is an entrepreneur or professional athlete. Tamera is over dating apps and is sick of the game playing. While she feels unsure that there will ever be a guy who ticks all her boxes, Tamera is keen to be proven wrong and meet a guy who is on her level.

The Stan Original Dating Series Love Triangle season two is produced by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay company) Director of Content Tara McWilliams (Married At First Sight), Executive Producer Mollie Harwood (Married At First Sight), Executive Producer Alex Spurway (Married at First Sight), 9Network Executive Producer John Walsh (Married at First Sight, The Voice) with Stan Executive Producers Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie and from 9Network Michael Healy and Adrian Swift.

The first two episodes of The Stan Original Series Love Triangle Season 2 will premiere October 5, followed by a brand new episode every Thursday, only on Stan.

NSW Government supports Endemol Shine Australia’s Post Production training expansion

SYDNEY (24.08.23) Endemol Shine Australia (ESA) is thrilled to announce support from the New South Wales Government Jobs Plus Program to take their successful Accelerated Broadcast Post Production Training Program to the next level.

The Accelerated Broadcast Post Production Training Program provides a ground-breaking combination of theory and practical experience in television post production which will equip students with the skills and opportunities to foster a long lasting career. This exciting project is addressing the talent shortfall in the screen and post-production industry.

The initiative aims to build workforce capacity and keep post production jobs in Australia.  Successful graduates will have the opportunity to take up roles within ESA’s post production department, creating 30 full-time roles upon graduating thanks to support from the NSW Government's Jobs Plus Program. The contribution by the NSW Government will be equally matched by ESA.

This new incentive is an expansion of the work ESA has already done over the past 18 months, since  the conception of their Accelerated Broadcast Post Production Training Program. This program was devised by ESA’s Post Production Consultant Nadia Diggins, alongside ESA’s senior post production executives which saw approximately 40 students efficiently trained in post production, with an 80% employment retention rate. The new program represents a critical step in the long-term investment in the industry’s skilled workforce.

Endemol Shine Australia Chief Executive Officer Peter Newman said: “I am extremely proud to announce this initiative. I was lucky enough to receive incredible training at the start of my career whilst at the BBC. Since then, I have been passionate about increasing training opportunities for our industry and with the Accelerated Broadcast Post Production Training Program, we are doing just that. This training will be led by our world class post production team at ESA and I’ve got no doubt it will deliver the next generation of brilliant story tellers to our industry. We are incredibly grateful to the NSW Government who will now help us super-size the work we have done in this area into something even more impactful.”

Nadia Diggins said the objective of the program was to help address the Screen Industries current crew shortage crisis.

“By nurturing talent with specialised on the job training, we pave the way for the sector’s future superstars and build capacity and depth for the freelance industry.  It’s huge, not just for ESA but for the entire Australian Screen Industry.  The impact of this program will be felt by a new generation of story tellers for their entire careers.”

ESA has already begun its inaugural intake, welcoming 20+ students into the Accelerated Broadcast Post Production Training 2023 program.

Prospective applicants for the next intake should send their CV and links of previous work to ESAU Mentor Program via mentorprogram@endemolshine.com.au.

The incredible initiative is possible thanks to support from the NSW Government's Jobs Plus Program.

The Seven Network and Endemol Shine Australia are pleased to announce cameras are rolling on season two of the #1 new Australian drama of 2021, RFDS, with the new season to premiere later this year on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Based on remarkable real-life stories and filmed on location in and around Broken Hill, RFDS tells the stories of doctors, nurses, pilots and support staff in the Royal Flying Doctor Service as they navigate private lives as turbulent and profound as the heart-stopping emergencies they attend.

Nominated for three TV Week Logie Awards in 2022, the new season of RFDS sees the return of acclaimed cast members Emma Hamilton (Ten Pound Poms, Last Cab to Darwin), Stephen Peacocke (Home and Away, Five Bedrooms, The Newsreader), Rob Collins (Total Control, The Drover’s Wife), Justine Clarke (Going Country, The Time of Our Lives), Ash Ricardo (Offspring, Force of Nature: The Dry 2), Jack Scott (Hardball, Joe v Carole), Sofia Nolan (Home and Away), Rodney Afif (Ali’s Wedding, Lucky Miles), Ash Hodgkinson (Heartbreak High) and Thomas Weatherall (Heartbreak High, Blue).

Joining the cast this year is Emma Harvie (Colin from Accounts, Frayed) in the role of Chaya, a charismatic mental health nurse.

Season two of RFDS picks up one year after Eliza (Emma Hamilton) left Broken Hill behind. Much has changed, with lives at RFDS South East progressing at a rapid rate. The determined team will face some of their most confronting challenges to date – in the air, on land, with each other, and within themselves – set against the isolation, beauty and brutality of the outback.

RFDS is executive produced by Endemol Shine Australia Head of Scripted Sara Richardson, Imogen Banks (Kindling) and Julie McGauran for Seven. RFDS is produced by Ian Meadows (Upright) and Ross Allsop (The Artful Dodger) and directed by Jeremy Sims (Last Cab To Darwin), Rachel Ward (Rake) and Adrian Russell Wills (The Warriors). Season two is written by Ian Meadows, with other writers including Claire Phillips (Offspring), Magda Wozniak (Bad Behaviour), Kodie Bedford (Mystery Road) and Adrian Russell Wills.

Seven Network Head of Drama, Julie McGauran, said: “The best part of my day is seeing the dailies come in for the new season of RFDS. Watching this stellar cast bring these wonderful Australian stories to life is such a joy and I can’t wait for Australia to fall in love with this show all over again.”

Executive Producer and Endemol Shine Australia Head of Scripted, Sara Richardson, said: “It is such a joy to be back in Broken Hill and its community for the second season of RFDS. It is a huge privilege to be telling regional stories that are at the very soul of Australia, with scripts which have been crafted by the exceptional Ian Meadows and his team of incredibly talented writers.

“We are honoured to be bringing back our sensational cast and crew to showcase the powerful work of real-life heroes with heart, humour and gripping action.”

Screen Australia’s Head of Content, Grainne Brunsdon, said: “Returning with an exceptionally strong creative team, season two of RFDS will once again bring to life thrilling storylines with authentic and complex characters, showcasing regional parts of Australia rarely seen on screen. I’m confident season two will continue to engage and entertain audiences across Australia and beyond.”

RFDS is an Endemol Shine Australia production for the Seven Network. Major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Seven Network. Financed with support from Screen NSW. Banijay Rights handles international distribution for RFDS outside of Australia.

Season one of RFDS achieved a total TV audience of 1.09 million viewers, including an average BVOD per episode of 110,000 people. Watch it now on 7plus.
