Banijay Entertainment’s Endemol Shine Australia announces Dan Cazzola as SVP of Development for US and international growth.

Sydney / Los Angeles, Thursday 19 March (AEST): Endemol Shine Australia (ESA), part of media and entertainment powerhouse Banijay Entertainment, today announced the appointment of Dan Cazzola as Senior Vice President, Development, as the company accelerates its ambitious international growth strategy.

Based in Los Angeles and reporting into ESA’s Creative Director Elliot Spencer, Cazzola will spearhead the expansion of ESA’s English-language originals slate for the US and global markets. Leveraging ESA’s genre defining and award‑winning creative approach to supersizing and originating unscripted formats, which has birthed juggernauts such as Married At First Sight Australia, MasterChef Australia, and LEGO Masters Australia, originations including The Summit (Nine, CBS, ITV), Love Triangle (Stan, Channel 4), Family Food Fight (Nine, ABC), and scripted global hit NCIS: Sydney (Paramount+, CBS), Dan’s remit includes developing big, bold, and dynamic IP and driving strategic opportunities with US and international buyers.

This new role marks a return to the Banijay family for Cazzola, who previously served as SVP, Unscripted Development at Endemol Shine North America. During that tenure, he developed and sold major original series including Deal or No Deal Island and Hot Wheels:Ultimate Challenge (NBC), Foodtastic (Disney+), and Domino Challenge (M6, RTL). He also oversaw US adaptations of Banijay Entertainment formats such as LEGO Masters (FOX) and Would I Lie To You? (The CW). Most recently, Cazzola was a consultant for Yes Yes Media – backed by Elisabeth Murdoch’s Sister Group – working across the US and UK development and strategic growth initiatives.

Peter Newman, Chief Executive Officer ESA said: ESA’s track record of building defining versions of multi territory, global formats and original IP that travels, is thanks to the world‑class talent we attract. Dan’s exceptional creative vision and proven ability for working with broadcast partners to deliver major original series makes him an outstanding addition to the team.

Dan Cazzola, SVP of Development ESA said: ESA has the best creative team in the business, and I’ve always admired the work they do. Being back at Banijay and working with ESA on their ambitious growth strategy in the US and internationally to build standout original content is incredibly exciting.

This appointment signals a determined period of expansion for ESA as the company sharpens its focus on international opportunities, taking its unique brand of creative energy and excellence to the biggest buyers in the world, building on its impressive slate of originals with international traction.
